NEW HAVEN MAKES CHANGES TO WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE AFFECTING 5 NEIGHBORHOODS

(8/27/2010) NEW HAVEN- In the City’s effort to make waste collection operations more efficient, the Department of Public Works has made several changes in its pick-up schedule that will impact five neighborhoods of the City. The following changes will become effective beginning Tuesday, September 7, 2010:

? Ferry Street from Grand Avenue to River Street will be picked up on Friday instead of previously scheduled Thursday

? Norton Street from Whalley Avenue to Crescent Street will be picked up on Monday instead of previously scheduled Tuesday

? Livingston Street from Avon Street to Coldspring Street will be picked up on Thursday instead of previously scheduled Tuesday

? Bishop Street from State Street to Whitney Avenue will be picked up on Tuesday instead of previously scheduled Thursday

? Elm Street from Ella Grasso Blvd. to West Park will be picked up on Tuesday instead of previously scheduled Wednesday
